IMPORTANT

Always test EFFLORESCENCE RID on surfaces prior to application as some surfaces can become bleached.

APPLICATION REMINDERS

  1. Remove all existing salt deposits mechanically before treatment
  2. Do NOT use pressured water once efflorescence is treated
  3. Substrate must be below 15% moisture before application of SEALTIGHT
  4. Do not rinse EFFLORESCENCE RID between applications, only after final application

METHOD

  1. Prepare the area by removing all loose material and existing salt deposits as well as cleaning out missing grout areas, ensuring the substrate is clean, sound and porous.
NOTE: Pressure water blasting is not recommended, as it may draw additional salts to the surface.
  2. Spray EFFLORESCENCE RID onto grout lines and allow the product to foam.
  3. Once the foaming action has stopped, spray again. DO NOT rinse between applications.
  4. Repeat spraying EFFLORESCENCE RID into grout lines until foaming no longer occurs. DO NOT rinse between applications. It is essential that salts are extracted from within the substrate and not merely removed from the surface.
  5. Once the surface has dried to a moisture content of less than 15%, verified using a suitable moisture meter.
  6. Where grout is missing use a “squeeze bottle”, pour SEALTIGHT into the screed, to the point of flooding the screed, prior to overflow.
  7. Allow SEALTIGHT to dry for a minimum of 24 hours.
  8. Re-apply tile grout and allow to dry to a moisture content of less than 15%, verified using a suitable moisture meter.
  9. Using a “squeeze bottle”, Saturate all the tile grout with SEALTIGHT.
  10. Remove excess SEALTIGHT after 25 minutes using a damp sponge, cloth, or mop. Ensure that SEALTIGHT has a minimum of 24 hours to dry before getting wet.

IMPORTANT

All products must be used in accordance with the current Technical Bulletins and specific project requirements, including requirements relating to dimensions, surface preparation, mixing, and application.
